The previous term spent one assembly period reading a book to put forth a play the next term. This term was spent preparing for a whole school play, an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘ The Jungle Book’.
With the help of many friends of Shibumi who contributed their time and skills in costume designing, animal movements, music and soundtrack the play had an added layer of charm along with the theatrical abilities of the students and the director. The sound team used variety of instruments and songs in various languages to create a more immersive atmosphere.
On the day of the play there were many exhibits made by the students as well. These exhibits came up as a by product of finding costumes for the various animals in the play. It included a vulture totem, various wolves set up in different parts of the school, elephant cut outs, and posters by the youngest group on various monkeys across the world.
